Day 13 -- Class and Insadong
This morning, I had class (during which we took a vocabulary test that I did very well on) and then ate at Greek Day before taking the subway to Insadong. I walked around for a while and then went to Insa 1010, an art gallery. The current exhibition featured an artist who combined photography and painting (and sometime other mediums too). Many of the works were photographs with extra details and/or scenes outside of the camera's view painted on top. I haven't seen many works like them before, and I really enjoyed them!
After the gallery, I walked around Insadong for a little while longer before stopping by a very famous cafe in the area, Cafe Knotted. The cafe itself was very pretty. It was inside of a hanok (a traditional Korean house), which meant that there was a courtyard in the middle and lots of natural light. The food was also delicious. Cafe Knotted is known for its donuts, so I got a lemon and sugar donut alongside a strawberry yogurt drink with boba. I will definitely be going back -- the amazing food combined with the atmosphere was an overall wonderful experience.
I went back to my dorm next, along the way stopping in Sinchon to add more money to my transportation card and buy some food for my dorm. When I finally made it back, I did some homework and relaxed in my room for a while before going out for a late dinner at Mr. Seowang Mandu. This time I got the fried dumplings, which were just as good as the xiaolongbao that I had last time. I studied back in my dorm for a while and then finally went to sleep.
