Day 15 -- Class and Cafe

This morning after class, I went to Greek Day and then took the subway to Check Grow, a library cafe. Today it was 93 degrees and I didn't want to spend much time outside, so I enjoyed my afternoon in the air conditioned cafe doing my homework and reading while drinking iced tea and enjoying the beautiful space. The cafe spans several floors; I was on the 8th floor which had a library and windows overlooking the Han River. I really enjoyed being there -- there were areas specifically for talking and areas specifically for studying so everyone could get the environment that they wanted.



After a few hours, I went back to my dorm and read some more before going out for a late dinner at Yeono Chobap, a sushi restaurant I have been wanting to go to for a while that is famous for its salmon sushi. It was indeed excellent salmon sushi, and the eel sushi I got was also delicious.


After dinner, I stopped by a convenience store to restock the snacks in my dorm room and to buy some Melona, a melon-flavored popsicle that I love. I went back to my dorm and read for a while longer before going to bed.

Day 53 -- Movie and K-Pop Dance Class

This morning, I did some homework and then met up with Sonia, Sandi, and Adeline in Myeongdong. We went to Myeongdong Kyoja for lunch and had their dumplings and two noodle dishes. It was very rainy so we went to a movie theater in Myeongdong and watched the new Despicable Me movie. I enjoyed it, and it was also interesting to read the subtitles and see how the dialogue was translated because in a lot of cases it wasn't a direct translation. After the movie, it was raining even harder, so we stopped in the Lotte Young Department store until we finally had to head over to the Seoul Tourism Plaza for a dance class. It was a free class with about 15 other foreigners, and over the course of the hour we learned the dance for TWS's song "plot twist." It was a lot of fun and I was surprised by how quickly we learned it because whenever I learn choreography by myself it takes me a very long time! Day 62 -- National Museum of Korea

After class today, I had a quick lunch at Waffle It Up before taking the subway to the National Museum of Korea. I briefly walked through the history section of the museum, but it was super crowded so I spent most of my time on the upper floors, which focused on wooden lacquerware, mother of pearl furniture, traditional paintings, and celadon pottery. Everything was really beautiful and I was glad to see it! After spending a couple of hours at the museum, I went back to my neighborhood and had dinner at Kkai Restaurant for their Singaporean chicken rice. I then went back to the dorm and studied grammar and vocabulary for a long time before watching some TV and going to bed.

Day 65 -- Hongdae

Today was the first day of my final exams, and after the tests I was exhausted. I ate some food in my room before going to Hongdae for my favorite bingsu! I went into a few stores around Hongdae, including a photo booth on my bucket list that is teddy bear themed. Next I went to a store I have been wanting to go to for a long time called Object. It is four floors of cute pouches, stickers, phone accessories, posters, and tons of other things! I spent a long time there getting gifts for my friends before walking around the Sinchon area and finally going back to my dorm. I quickly stopped by the dorm before going to Aangan for dinner. After dinner, I spent the night doing laundry before going to bed.
