Day 16 -- Class and Light Fellowship Dinner
This morning during class we had special visitors, who ended up being Dr. Fisher (the director of the Light Fellowship) and Professor Lim (my Korean teacher at Yale from last semester). They observed class for an hour, and during one of our breaks I chatted with Professor Lim and another student in my class who it turns out Professor Lim taught ten years ago at Sogang University!
Class ended a bit late today and I also had the Light Fellowship dinner this evening, so I didn't do much this afternoon other than shower and do a bit of homework. Finally, though, I made my way to the restaurant Seolgaon and met up with eight of the other Light fellows, Dr. Fisher, and Professor Lim. It was really fun talking to everyone and we had a great time, and the food was just as amazing. We were in a private room, and enjoyed many, many courses, including pumpkin soup, salad, sashimi, mung bean jelly, yam fritters, grilled mushrooms, beef soup, raw beef, eel, octopus, mussels, beef ribs, kimchi, rice, seaweed soup, watermelon, and tea. The dinner was very expensive and very delicious and I was very grateful that the Light Fellowship sponsored it, especially because I got to try a lot of traditional foods you don't usually find in Korean restaurants.
After dinner, some of us stayed back for a while to chat before making our way back to our neighborhoods. I was very tired and went to bed soon after getting back to my dorm.
