Day 68 -- Studying and Exhibition

This morning I slept in and then talked with Mom and Grandy before studying for a while. I then went to Ikseondong to go to a cafe for lunch. The cafe I wanted to go to was completely crowded, so I ended up going to Cheonsudang Bakery again and getting their peach montblanc.


I then walked to Insadong and stopped by a few stores before going to my host dad's latest exhibition. It turned out he was at the gallery and I talked to him while I looked at all of the art.


I went back to the dorm next and studied some more before getting bibimnaengmyeon from Tera Gimbap for dinner.

Day 71 -- I'Park Mall

After class, I went to Hanok Langsom for a matcha montblanc and plum ade. Then I took the subway to I'Park Mall. I walked around for a long time looking at the stores and all of the cool things in the mall itself. I love the architecture of the outdoor courtyard, and there were lots of spaces with events for various brands and franchises. After walking around for a while, I went back to the dorm before having dinner at Yeoneo Chobap for the last time. I went back to the dorm, and started doing a bit of cleaning and packing before going to bed.

Day 42 -- Seoul Museum of Craft Art

After class, I had Greek Day and then went to the Seoul Museum of Craft Art for the afternoon. The first exhibition I saw focused on embroidery. The highlight was seeing a collection of huge embroidered screens. They were all very colorful and incredibly detailed. Next, I went to the exhibition about bojagi, a type of cloth that Koreans traditionally used to wrap things They are less common now, but are still used in ceremonies like weddings. The exhibition featured a wide range of bojagi of different sizes and stiles. Some had clear patterns, while others were a patchworked mix of fabrics in order not to waste material. In the same museum, I next went to an exhibition featuring Korean and Austrian contemporary jewelry. There were a lot of incredibly unique jewelry, much of which was designed for photoshoots and high fashion rather than practical use. Day 46 -- Food, Shopping, HiKR GROUND, and Arcade

This morning, I did some homework before meeting up with Sandi, Sonia, and Adeline in Insadong. When I got there, they were sampling Kkul-tarae (a type of candy with nuts inside) from a street vendor, and we got to see a demonstration of how the candies are made. We bought some candy and all got to enjoy some afterwards! We had a lunch of dumplings and naengmyeon next before going to some stores where we were able to get free samples. We went to a yakgwa store full of uniquely decorated yakgwa, and also went to a store with red bean bars of different flavors that were packaged beautifully. We then went to the next door Anyeong Insadong Mall. We stopped by several stores looking for souvenirs before walking to HiKR GROUND. HiKR GROUND has various sets that resemble those of K-pop music videos, and while we were there we saw a dance group of kids recording a music video.
